Day 28 to a 6 pack.

What a disaster.

Weigh in at 246 lbs.

That's flat from yesterday but I really went the distance.

Squats, deadlifts, 60 minutes of cardio, Intermittent fasting of 23 hours and restricted caloric intake.

And I did not lose weight? I gained muscle mass? I don't care. The goal is to lose weight.

We fucked up.

Back to the drawing board.

Need to drop at least 1 lbs tomorrow.

Monday, September 7, 2020

Day 27 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 246 lbs

That's a 2 lbs loss in 24 hours.

I guess the lat pull downs and flat benches helped.

Today is squats and stiff leg deadlifts

I need to asses if I'm losing fat around the waist line or not.

Weight alone is a solitary metric and does not give a complete reading on fat vs muscle mass.

I'll start posting waistline from tomorrow.

Day 26 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 248 lbs

That's a 4 lbs loss in 24 hours.

Finally.

Thanks to some crazy beetroot juice.

Let's get back on track.

Day 25 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 252 lbs

2 lbs gain.

Binged last night.

Friday, September 4, 2020

Day 24 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 250 lbs

That's a 2 lbs gain over cheat day.

Which means I need to have a good 2 to 3 lbs buffer before cheat day to sustain my fat loss.

Still sore from lats & abs, can't budge.

To another day of toil.

Thursday, September 3, 2020

Day 23 to a 6 pack.

Weight in: 248 lbs

That's a gain of 1 pound.

I'm sure that's fat from some reckless eating for dinner last night.

Started my lifts yesterday.

Day 22 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 247 lbs

Flat AGAIN x 2.

Going to start lifts again.

Some size on the lats should help with the metabolism.

Tuesday, September 1, 2020

Day 21 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 247 lbs.

Flat AGAIN.

Now I'm pissed.

Day 20 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in : 247 lbs.

Flat today.

If I don't drop some serious poundage in the next few days...

The target may be missed.

Time to double down.

Sunday, August 30, 2020

Day 19 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in at 247 lbs.

Dropped 1 lb.

Lowest I've weighed in 7 days.

Meh.

We're starting lifts again in September.

I hope my tailor doesn't complain about my lats.

Let's grow some muscle while burning that belly fat.

Day 18 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 248 lbs

Dropped another 2 lbs.

At last, we're gaining traction again.

This was what I weighed at Day 14, so I'm repairing the damage.

Last night was hard though, daughter made some delicious pancakes.

I was contemplating deleting this blog.

I made up a million excuses to burn away the fat with some dead lifts.

But as you might know by now, even the heaviest of dead lifts cannot out train your mouth.

Caloric density of foods is so high, out training them is like paying off your credit card with a pay check.

The double digit interest rates are stacked against the flat rate revenue.

So Yea, the pancakes? I didn't try them out. Another time.

I also found another fat burning tactic last evening which I have never ever read about before.

If it continues to work for the next couple of days, I might share it with yous.

No gym for now.

Let's see if we can reach a 6 pack by skipping a few gym sessions.

Day 17 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 250 lbs

Dropped 3 lbs.

That was a 36 hour fast except for 1 serving of Bulletproof coffee & 4 liters of water.

If I don't maintain consistency in this fat burn, I won't hit my 6 pack target in 6 weeks.

Dayum.

Day 16 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 253 lbs

Gained 4 lbs.

It's not my fault.

It's Papa John's, buy 2 large pizzas and get 2 free.

2 weeks of 8 weeks gone, and I'm almost where I started.

Dayum.

Day 15 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 249 lbs.

Gained a pound.

Afternoon binge.

Day 14 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 248 lbs.

Dropped 2 lbs.

Can't lose momentum now.

Here is the secret.

There is an appalling disconnect between the fat loss narrative and the actual effort required to burn fat while building muscle.

It is comparable to success literature or cross fit, where the process takes precedence over results.

Results matter.

KPIs in a fat loss journey is drop of fat %, and ultimately a 6 pack.

Not some personal record in cleans and presses.

Keeping on.

Monday, August 24, 2020

Day 13 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 250 lbs.

Gained 3 lbs.

Binged with the kids.

We don't have much time left and these feasts ain't helping.

Silver lining, we watched A Beautiful Mind again.

Picking up some momentum today.

Day 12 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in: 247 lbs.

Gained back the pound.

Should've staved off the Magnum.

I hate ice cream. But thanks to the program, it tasted so good.

We have a situation.

We are already 2 weeks into the journey.

The whole weight loss outcome is botched at best.

Only 6 more weeks to go.

I'm at least 37 lbs away from a 6 pack.

We need to build a little more momentum into the regimen.

And some menu engineering.

Onward...

Saturday, August 22, 2020

Day 11 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in : 246 lbs.

Dropped another 1 lbs.

Bulletproof coffee helping a bit.

It is progress, but it is slow.

Lowest I have weighed in 34 days though.

Like Cook said, "Incremental is Revolutionary."

Day 10 to a 6 pack

Weigh in : 247 lbs.

Dropped 1 lbs as per yesterday's target.

Let's drop another 1 lb tomorrow.

Here goes.

Thursday, August 20, 2020

Day 9 to a 6 pack

Weigh in : 248 lbs

That's a 5 lbs loss in 24 hours.

Eating clean, no gym.

I guess we made up for the binge since Day 6.

Let's gun to drop another 1 lbs by tomorrow.

Keep it real.

Wednesday, August 19, 2020

Day 8 to a 6 pack

Weigh in : 253 lbs

Gained a pound.

Binged last night while watching the Russian Revolution with the kids.

No gym.

Gotta get back on the bandwagon.

Only 7 weeks left.

6 pack is at least 40 lbs away.

Here we go.

"As pride increases, fortune declines" Poor Richard's Almanack

Tuesday, August 18, 2020

Day 7 to a 6 pack

Weigh in : 252 lbs.

We flat. ish. Lost half a pound, not worth the mention.

The culprit is Papa John's Tuesday Promo - 2 for 1 Large Pizza.

Went Pepperoni Authentic Thin Crust.

One large pizza for the kids and one large pizza for me.

Wicked how I still lost half a pound though. Thought I'd have gained a couple.

No gym.

I'm inundated with work.

What's in store today?

Monday, August 17, 2020

Day 6 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in : 252 lbs.

A 5 lbs increase in 24 hours.

That's cheat day for you.

I blame it on sopa seca de fideo.

No gym either. Worked a straight 8 hour shift yesterday.

We've got 10 days till the next cheat day, as yesterday was social, non ufficiale.

Until then...

Sunday, August 16, 2020

Day 5 to a 6 pack

Weigh in : 247 lbs

Today was flat, no weight lost.

Skipped gym, got busy at work and ate too much chicken.

Today is cheat day because of an unexpected social event, looks like tomorrow gonna be a weight gain.

We'll cancel the upcoming cheat day on the weekend to make up for this impending damage.

Let's roll.

Saturday, August 15, 2020

Day 4 to a 6 pack.

Weigh in : 247 lbs

1 lb burnt in 24 hours. Pathetic.

Carb intake exceeded 100g, hence the limited fat loss.

35 minutes on the stair master.

Got some military press, barber curls and upright rows in.

Let's see if we can catch up for the loss in momentum.

"An egg today is better than a hen tomorrow" Poor Richard's Almanack

Friday, August 14, 2020

Day 3 to a 6 pack.

Weighing in at 248 lbs today.

That's 2 lbs burnt in 24 hours.

Building traction.

Gonna increase water intake to 4 liters.

Got 25 minutes on the stair master, that's 66 floors.

Added 30 minutes of lifts, lat pull downs, flat bench and leg raises.

Gotta get some new Zegna shirts that can accommodate these lats.

Let's speed up.

Day 2 to a 6 pack

Weighing in at 250 lbs today.

That's a 4 lbs loss in 24 hours.

Not bad.

Keeping water intake at about 3 liters a day.

Did 20 minutes on the stair master and 60 minutes of compound lifts.

Squats and Romanian Dead lifts.

Let's keep burning.

Subtle Start

This is my journey to a 6 pack. I'm 5'11

Age: 40 years
Weight is 254 lbs
Waistline around 44 inches maybe, too lazy to measure.
Fat % must be 35% +, again, don't care

Target is 6 pack.

Lifting Plan: Compound Lifts, 6 days a week, 10 minute cardio on stairmaster
Nutrition: 1000 calorie daily deficit. Diet predominantly #Bulletproof Coffee, Carnivore Diet, Green Smoothies.
